More Business, New Name

A change of direction

“The ears are the side doors to the brain”. This is a saying known to many people in the experience industries, from film to advertising, and it was this idea that started Jacob Rentsch on a new professional journey. Working in advertising for many years, he felt that even as the digital revolution rolled over every sector, he was turning his focus to the physical world – retail, sports and hospitality spaces – and asking himself: How can I help my clients create the soundscapes that make customers feel good, stay longer, and buy more?

In 2009, he took the leap, founding Auditive Network, a business dedicated to design and deliver in-store audio solutions.

Widening the purview

From the beginning, understanding the client’s business was central to the company’s offering. Just like you need to understand a business to design their website, creating the appropriate soundscape also requires a proper level of insight. At the same time, technical understanding was obviously paramount. As such, Auditive Network soon started uncovering needs adjacent to the sound experience as part of the dialogue, and often became a go-to tech advisor when the client found themselves having other questions concerning in-store experience and installations.

As technology also developed, making it possible to digitally integrate previously discrete areas of experience and blurring the lines between them, it was only natural for Auditive Network to gradually widen the purview, and increasingly include these other fields – lighting, signage etc. – in the solution design.

InStoreLife is here

None of this happened overnight, of course. Still, over the past half-decade or so, we’ve felt that our name and brand was becoming increasinly inaccurate in communicating what you get as our client. The time for a change was approaching – and now it has arrived:
As of [now], we are known as InStoreLife!
The new name and visual identity reflects the fundamentals of the company: To help our clients present commercial spaces their customers enjoy being in, by providing technology and knowhow to build great in-store experiences.
As part of the change we have also redesigned and updated our website. Have a look around – and please reach out if you want your customers to feel good, stay longer, and buy more!
